Discovery Time

Teachers provide exciting, activity-based activities which are fun, challenging, student-directed, and have an authentic context. Through teacher observations, interactions, conversations and questioning, students gain opportunities to explore, experiment, discover, and solve problems in their imaginative and playful ways.

Teachers set the scene but the students decide what will happen next. Children direct their own learning, become actively involved, which fosters creativity and thinking skills and problem solving strategies.

All children are engaged in oral language with each other and they also use skills for listening, thinking, cooperation, negotiation, leadership, active listening and compromise.
