Kia Ora. An event planner at heart, coffee enthusiast and a busy mum of three, my family has only recently joined the Wairakei Primary School “family” with my daughter starting school.

I am originally from Pretoria, South Africa and have lived in New Zealand for 8 years. As a family, we love travelling, camping, exploring nature and taking the boat out on the lake.

I have been a member of various Parent Teacher Organisations for the past 8 years, mostly in the position of Secretary. I really enjoy the interaction I have with the students, principal, teachers and parents through my involvement with the PTA and find it extremely rewarding being involved with my children’s school and supporting it in any way I can.

The PTA is a vitally important part of the school, working alongside and supporting the Board of Trustees, Principal and teachers to ensure the best possible opportunities are available for all students. The PTA would not exist without the active involvement and support of our parents, caregivers and community.  I believe in the saying “Great things in business are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people”.

I am honoured to have been voted the new Chair for the PTA, and will strive to ensure that when our students look back in years to come, they will be able to say that their Wairakei Primary School days were fun, memorable and their best school years ever.
