The purpose for the new Manukura is to lead the students in their Wharenui (house) by demonstrating positive behaviour that reflects our  school values; POWER for self, POWER for others and POWER for their environment.

This is an extension of the POWER Values of Pride, Opportunity, Whanau, Excellence and Respect.

The Manukura will have key roles and responsibilities around the school. Some of their responsibilities include,

  • supporting teachers with the POWER draws,
  • hosting and organising school assemblies and celebrations,
  • setting up and participating in lunchtime activities,
  • organsing the sports boxes
  • being active in the playground
  • setting a good example of POWER in the school for all students’,
  • helping set up school wide events such as cross country and athletics day,
  • escorting visitors around the school.

Their primary task is to be a positive role model within the school showcasing the school values at the highest level.
