POWER with our buddy class

Room 7’s buddy class is Room 15. We wanted to develop our tuakana teina skills as well as practising different ways to show POWER to others (pride in our work, whanau and respect when working with our buddy).

Every second Friday we catch up with our buddy class to share our learning or to work on a co-operative task together. Room 7 retold the local story, Battle of the Mountains, as part of their "Must do’s".  We made our stories into booklet form using Book Creator.

We decided to share these with our buddy class. We had to tell our buddy why we made the book and then we read our story to them.

After the sharing of our stories, some of the Room 7 students and Room 15 students put on a puppet show.
