We have been learning about the celebration of Thanksgiving in our Exploration country of America.
Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada and the United States. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.
Today, most American families come together to have a traditional meal of turkey, sweet potatoes (Kumara) green beans and pumpkin pie for desert. It is a time to remember and be thankful.
We made pinecone turkeys. On the feathers of our turkeys are our ideas about what we are thankful for.
