2020 Athletics - Te Mihi

Every year Te Mihi hold our annual athletics day. At the beginning of the term, our teachers set out to teach the skills  ‘run, throw and Jump’. 

For example, a tip for Long jump was to have knees up, head up and chest up.

This is a critical part of our curriculum because not only do we learn skills for the events, we learn about sportsmanship and how to play fair and support all athletes on the day. 

We set up rotations and the teachers taught the skill needed to be successful. Our Learning intention was to display our skills on our senior school athletics day. 

Our parents gathered around cheering and supporting us all on. 

We were delighted to see the amazing to see the support.

We had a wonderful day competing in our school athletics day, especially the sack races while we waited for the transitions between events.
