We are honoured to introduce the 2025 school leaders. These students have shown exceptional dedication, leadership, and a passion for making a difference in the school community.
Leadership is about setting an example, being a role model, supporting peers, and working towards a shared vision of ‘Rising to Success’. The leaders have demonstrated their commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
They are highly visible and active, providing invaluable assistance in the office during break times and helping to facilitate engaging learning programs for students; additionally supporting teachers in all classrooms and creating fun games in the playground to enhance student interaction. Their flexibility and willingness to take on extra tasks make them indispensable.
With more of an environmental responsibility, these students monitor the gully, help organise school events, and support staff to keep the school environment clean and tidy––this includes collecting lost property.
Working alongside Kids Greening Taupo is providing the Kaitiakitanga a wide range of experiences that they are sharing with the rest of the school. Their work focuses on the school gully and maintaining it for others to use.
The cultural ambassadors who proudly lead the powhiri, energise the kapa haka groups, and support teachers in delivering te reo Māori, bringing language and culture to life in the classroom. They also take care of our Whare Tiaki flags, symbolising their commitment to our school's values.
Dynamic students who manage the PE shed ensure that all sports equipment is organised and ready for action. During lunchtime, they run exciting activities that bring students together and foster a sense of community. One of their most important roles is overseeing our Tokarewa token system, collecting the tokens each week. Checking in the classroom for the tokens as well as the outside token stands. Then there is the counting of the tokens while checking that the bronze and silver tokens are counted. They also restock the Tokarewa shelves for the teachers and sort the sports tokens to be used during the sports days.
The unsung heroes of the school, bringing energy and support to every corner of our learning community. These dedicated leaders are paired with a specific teacher and class. They assist the teacher with photocopying and bringing cups back to the staffroom. They work with the students in the class by showing sight words or reading with the students.
The heroes of the school community, ensuring everyone's safety during the bustling after-school hours. These students help our community to cross the road safely in the correct place.
