Pirorirori, 2025 Term Four
Inquiry Focus: Making a Mark
Students will explore the powerful idea that every person can influence the world through their unique voice and creative expression.
Students will be diving into the stories of inspirational New Zealanders - local heroes and change-makers. By learning about these people, students will be encouraged to discover their strengths. They will then apply different art forms, such as visual art, drama, music, and dance, to present how they can make their mark on the world. Students will share these projects at the Term 4 Wairakei Primary Celebration of Learning.
New Zealand Histories - Place and Environment
Students will make connections between the names of geographical features, places, and streets to the people they have been named after. Following this discovery, students will explore the stories and pūrakau related to the names and begin to understand that, on occasion, there can be more than one story.
Pirorirori end-of-year team celebration - Dropzone
This trip provides a chance for students to put their social skills into action and connect with peers outside the classroom. More information and consent forms will be sent home. Whānau support will be needed for this event.
