Raparapa, 2025 Term Three
The team is especially excited to welcome some new faces into the classroom spaces. Alongside the new students, Rachael Barr is joining as the new Team Leader and will be co-teaching in Room 16.
Curriculum Highlights:
-
BSLA (Better Start Literacy Approach): Within ongoing phonics and reading groups, each student is supported according to their individual needs. Phonics will remain a core focus to strengthen the foundations of reading and writing.
-
Inquiry Topic: Students will dive into the Inquiry topic, 'Making A Mark'. Students will explore how they contribute to the world around them, create positive changes, and leave their unique mark.
-
Bike Days: Bike Taupō are joining us to support the upcoming Bike Days. These sessions will take place on Friday, August 1, 8 and 15, 2025 from 10a.m. - 12.30p.m. Students will have the opportunity to develop their biking skills in a fun and safe environment. If possible, please supply a bike, helmet and fully enclosed shoes. Cones will be placed outside Room 15 for their bikes to be stored throughout the day.
-
Keeping Ourselves Safe: This unit will be taught across Weeks 3 - 6 of Term 3.
