October 27       Oketopa 27

Week 3 Term 4, 2026

We had a fantastic Pet Day. A real community day when everyone enjoyed the weather and the event. A big thank you to everyone who participated on the day for joining us and being a part of it. The Facebook page has all the logos from the sponsors that can be liked and shared. I know there are a couple more to go, as the team are checking official company names.

I would like to acknowledge Hannah and her ability to engage with the suppliers around the town. Incredible the level of support she obtained.

There are a few more raffles to go that will be on sale at the upcoming Celebration of Learning at $2 a ticket. These will be the old-style raffle, where you can put your name on the chart starting Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the office. The final raffles will be drawn at the November Celebration of Learning.

If you have any feedback for us about the day, please send it to office.EA@wairakeitaupo.school.nz. Plans are already in place for 2027.

Ballot

The ballot for 2027 has taken place, and applicants have been notified. We did not fill all the places that were offered. Therefore, I can accept applicants for ballot positions upon inquiry. Please make an appointment in the office to start a discussion.

Supporting Education in The Community

As the upcoming election approaches, all community members are encouraged to participate and exercise their right to vote. The school hall is a voting site. Education remains central to the future of young people in the Taupō area, making active engagement vital.

Wairakei Primary School continues its commitment to maintaining high-quality learning programmes and student activities. The focus remains steadfast on preserving excellent educational standards while striving to raise student achievement across all levels.

The teaching staff of the school are committed to ensuring that every student is offered the very best education possible alongside a range of interesting and engaging learning opportunities.
