Week 9 Term 2, 2026
Warm Up Wednesday
From Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the school will be offering ‘Warm Up Wednesday’ until the end of the term and for the first three weeks of Term Three.
For $2, each child will get a warm Milo to have in the mornings. Bring your own cup and come outside the staffroom at 8.30a.m. Coins are the best for this.
Cups will be rinsed and come back in school bags, ready for the next warm-up day. The funds raised will be for a new senior playground.
I do have news to share about that as well. I might just wait until next term, after we celebrate the junior playground and its opening. Keep the suspense going.
Growing Our Gully
A big thank you to those families who volunteered their time to join the gully working bee. This was a fantastic afternoon filled with students carrying dirt buckets and plants, and whānau getting stuck in to dig holes and shift mulch.
Jumping June
It is time for the annual Jumping June Celebration Day on Friday, June 26. Students have been working incredibly hard since the start of the term, mastering their skips and tricks. The fun kicks off at 1.30 p.m. with a whole-school warm-up and concludes at 2.45 p.m. Come down to the courts to cheer on the jumpers and see the house spirit in action. This is a free event for everyone.
Jumping June timetable
1.30 p.m.– Whole School Assembly. Kick-off on the courts with the Cha Cha Shuffle warm-up.
1.45p.m.– Rotation 1 (15 mins). Initial orientation and extended engagement period.
2.00p.m. – 2.40p.m. – Rotations 2, 3 & 4. Rapid-fire timed intervals with signal-driven transitions.
2.45p.m. – Event Conclusion. Final House Points tally and dismissal.
If you would like to practice the Cha Cha Shuffle at home, you can view it here.
School Uniform Expectations
Recently, there has been a growing number of students out of their school uniform. Please ensure your children are wearing their school shirts and jackets or sweatshirts each day.
Lost Property
A reminder to all whānau to please stop in and check the lost property cupboard - it is almost bursting at the seams. Although students are somewhat effective at checking this cupboard, there is greater success at locating lost items when whānau stop in and do a 'proper look'.
