We’ve been trying different famously known Spanish cuisines such as Patatas Bravas and Churros. Our class was split into 3 groups; Boarding Passes, Declaration Forms and making the security machines. 

The team responsible for the declaration forms tailored their questions to suit the juniors’ knowledge about flying. The juniors taste-tested our food and told us their opinion on it. The Boarding Pass makers spent their time making the passes accurate to represent a real boarding pass. Ensuring they included essential details with seats, gate numbers and boarding times.

In the photo I am checking Oscars boarding pass. We made a QR code on an app we asked all the people making boarding passes to add the QR code on there boarding pass. So when our buddies are lined up for the body scanner. I scan their boarding pass with the i-pad. If the QR code is valid, it redirects to a slide welcoming them to Spain in both English and Spanish, allowing them to proceed through the body scanner. This process confirms the realness of their boarding pass and ensures they are on the correct flight.

I am checking if they are faking their passport and stealing someone else's identity. This means they are travelling not following the rules. After they have passed getting checked I scan them with the body scanner and see if they are carrying either a weapon or metal. If they are carrying metal or weapons  they would get sent back to their own country on the next available flight.

In this photo I am cooking churros with Caroline. Churros is a famously known Spanish food. It is made of butter, vanilla essence, egg, and flour. To cook it we put the wet batter into a frying pan and cooked it until it was golden. It is important we don’t touch the pan as we had to follow health and safety, like clean hands, watching out for heat and splattering oil. After it was cooked, we tossed it in cinnamon and poured chocolate sauce over it. Then finally we got to taste our delicious churro.

In the photo I am scanning the traveller's luggage with the baggage scanner that I made with Laura. We are checking for any prohibited items such as weapons, seeds, raw meat, animals, or other contraband that travellers might try to bring into the country.  Laura and I cut the box to replicate the rubber flaps like on the real baggage scanners. The machine is made out of a cardboard box which we painted black. We used another box to make a tray for the travellers to put their belongings in. We used our chromebooks to make a slideshow to show the traveller what was in their luggage. This image is an x-ray of what is contained inside their luggage.

I am making sure that no one has things that are not allowed in Spain. I have learnt a lot of things about Spain and how airport security works. In particular how body scanners function and the consequences of attempting to bring unauthorised items into the country. Those caught with such items would be escorted back to their home country and could face a criminal conviction, banning them from future entry into Spain.
